Custom Builds and Furniture Installation for the NFL’s Los Angeles Media Center

AllModular brought the full range of its skills and resourcefulness to a massive installation job: NFL Media’s high-profile LA home next to SoFi stadium. Across 450,000 square feet, in a coordinated blitz, we installed furniture in nearly every part of this epicenter of pro-football news.

Our Scope of Work

Across five floors, we placed and assembled furniture for ten live broadcast studios, over 40 executive offices, and several large desk areas totaling 977 workstations. We also assembled over 50 phone booths and installed key furniture in conference rooms, lounge spaces, eating areas, and an outdoor patio.

Delivering and setting up custom furniture—a white-glove service that we excel at—was a key element of the project. When there are few assembly instructions, on-the-spot problem-solving is crucial. For larger custom items, we made on-site mock-ups—in collaboration with dealers and manufacturers—to ensure a final installation that satisfied the client.

Going live with custom work and camera-ready furnishing

To outfit this live broadcast studio, at left, we handled everything from logistics to custom work. In addition to installing the seating and tables, we also assembled and installed the custom shelving with its industrial piping—demonstrating our expertise in realizing design-forward furniture. Additionally, we received, delivered, and installed all the decor items on the shelves and tables.

Obviously, these backdrops for game talk and stat reviews needed to be impeccable. For this live studio, we made sure that the center-stage furnishings, from the blue chairs to the red patterned rug were perfectly placed.

Assembling nearly 1000 custom workstations

To equip this tv-studded hub of stat-gathering, on the left, we installed a lineup of multi-faceted workstations by Herman Miller. Each includes privacy screens, monitor supports, and other features.

We ultimately installed 977 workstations throughout the five floors. Our scope included the accompanying task chairs and all other desk-related accouterments, from dividers to custom curved desktops. We’re experts and keeping track of large numbers of furniture and their counterparts.

Attention to detail on a large scale was integral to this part of the project.

Client Testimonial

“NFL was the biggest project of my furniture career and I could not have done it without the amazing support of AllModular's Los Angeles team. The team was professional, resourceful, and efficient. We installed a 10 million dollar project with perfection and agility.

I’m forever grateful to the All Modular NFL team for a successful project.”

Specialized skills and on-the-spot solutions for book-ahead phone booths

Our specialized assembly skills came into play with the installation of these Framery phone booths. We took these large units from parts to completion, creating 53 sleek nooks for focused calls and collaborative work.

This install also necessitated some on-the-spot problem-solving. When the NFL team asked us to incorporate iPads into the booth concept—to be used for booking time—we collaborated with the manufacturer to develop a solution. Then we test-ran and tweaked the solution until we reached an optimal outcome: an iPad tucked into every door-front. This extra-mile service is what makes AM stand apart.

Set in stone:

Assembling an extra-long bespoke conference table

For this executive huddle room, AM stepped up to tackle the complex installation of a custom conference table. The table actually consists of multiple discrete stone work surfaces. Our job was to seam them together to create the illusion of one tabletop that’s a whopping 204 inches long!

Assembly of this centerpiece required careful planning. The table arrived in segments, and we focused our initial efforts into the pre-assembly of the base, followed by bringing in and setting the stone surfaces. Every stone has a particular grain, so we had to align them in a specific order to bring the design vision across the end zone.

The result, a seemingly seamless extra long conference table. Mission accomplished.

Executive installation:

From the private offices to the swanky lounge

For the executive offices, we exercised our technical expertise with wall-mounting and custom-cutting. We built the black wall unit, which serves as a support for the helmet-filled display shelf and other storage. To fit the room’s proportions, we also had to cut some furniture—including custom items—to precise measurements.

In the executive lounge area, the AM team shouldered the furnishing of this upscale breakroom. We received and installed all the freestanding pieces, from lounge chairs to tables for the built-in booths, making this space ready for top brass downtime.

Precision, pre-planning, and partnership made this theater a hit

To ensure optimal big-screen viewing of the big leagues, we brought our skills to another specialized area of installation: theater seating. The tiered-seating setup demanded exact placement and anchoring—and we delivered.

The theater installation also required preplanning and careful coordination with the general contractor. We had to work with extremely precise dimensions, so that the chair placement worked in conjunction with the power sources needed for lighting and chair adjustments.

Our meticulous attention to detail and collaborative planning came together for a big win for NFL Media.

We’d welcome the opportunity to learn more about your next project and how we can help bring it together.
